This talk will describe the interface between intersectionality and the practice of clinical neuropsychology with emphasis of the following issues: 1) enriching the neuropsychologist’s appreciation of cognitive functioning in minoritized individuals, 2) describing weaknesses in current assessment practices for these individuals, and 3) identifying tangible interventions to infuse intersectionality into the discipline of clinical neuropsychology.
1. Participants will describe how intersectionality interfaces with neuropsychological assessment.
2. Participations will explain how the ECLECTIC Framework facets impact cognitive functioning and the neuropsychological assessment process.
3. Participants will identify tangible ways to reduce discrimination in neuropsychology.
